Quincy worked with everyone from Ray Charles, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Count Basie to Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder.He won 28 Grammy Awards and was nominated a record 79 times. He produced three of Michael Jackson’s most successful albums: Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad. (The album “Thriller” remains the best-selling album of all times).He produced and conducted the charity song “We Are the World”. He was a bandleader, record producer, musical composer, arranger, trumpeter, and record label executive. He charted 6 singles and 6 albums in the top 40—with 4 Platinum Awardsand 7 Gold Awards.
He wrote scores for over 35 films, including In Cold Blood, In the Heat of the Night, The Italian Job and Co-produced Steven Spielberg’s film: “The Color Purple”, which earned 11 Oscar nominations. Among many others.

Originally from Texas, Goings is known for his masterful interpretations of jazz standards, blues, and bebop, drawing comparisons to legends like Lou Rawls and Nat King Cole. A longtime host of the “Seattle Jazz Offering” at Tula’s Jazz Club, he has performed with top artists including Hadley Caliman, Phil Sparks, and the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra.
